Food Spice Apazote: more than taste
Bacterial Growth Stimulation and Antifungal Effects Of The Essential-oil-less-extracts Of The Food Spice Dysphania ambrosioides
Dysphania ambrosioides (Da) besides give taste to specialty foods in Latin America, it has medicinal properties even beyond the essential oil as antihelminthic. We discovered that it contains components that can estimulate the bacterial growth. This is important as they can be used with probiotics such as Lactobacillus to enhance food adsorption. An important issue in developing countries, in which food access may not be in enough quantities making food absorption even more important. We invite you to check the pre-print publication of these interesting findings at the link below
